The tropics, seated in the equatorial regions of the world, are limited in latitude by the Tropic of Cancer in the northern hemisphere at approximately 23°26' (23.4°) N latitude and the Tropic of Capricorn in the southern hemisphere at 23°26' (23.4°) S latitude. The tropics are also referred to as the tropical zone and the torrid zone (see geographical zone).

The tropics include all the areas on the Earth where the sun reaches a point directly overhead and a point directly underneath at least once during the solar year. In the temperate zones, the sun never reaches the zenith or the nadir and is never directly overhead or directly underneath, always passing south of the zenith in the northern hemisphere, north of the zenith in the southern hemisphere, south of the nadir in the southern hemisphere and north of the nadir in the northern hemisphere.

what type of tropical fish should i put in my 55 gallon tank?
Q. I want to start a tropical tank and im wondering what type of fish should i put in there? I want it to look very colorful and not have it to be high maintanece.
Asked by Logan Skinner - Fri Apr 11 16:58:54 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Most maintenance would be doing 25% weekly water changes. Changing the filter feeding, treating for disease. If you want alot of fish and a variety of a selection. Stick with fish that grow 1-2" inches. With a non-aggressive tank, you can have more fish, than say a cichild tank. Guppies Neons Platies Corydoras Upside down catfish gouramis yoyo loaches khuli loaches neon tetras cardinal tetras No Bala sharks, silver tipped sharks, oscars, catfish, or any type of cichilds. What may be the best solution for preventing more species loss from tropical rainforests?
Q. What may be the best solution for preventing more species loss from tropical rainforests? I am not sure between A or D... or maybe its one of the others, but im not sure A Prevent the indigenous people from extracting tropical wood. B Stop eating beef grown in tropical rainforests. C Transfer endangered species to zoos and conservatories. D Determine a way in which indigenous people can extract resources in a sustainable manner.

A. D. Determine a way in which indigenous people can extract in a sustainable manner. In A, to prevent indigenous people from extracting wood, is impossible. People living the forest will always be in need of wood. In B, if you mean stop eating meat from an animal in the forest, it's no good also. It can't be stopped. People will always hunt meat for food when they are in the forests. In C, i don't think it is a good idea to transfer animals from their natural habitats(which is the forest), to the zoo. Zoo does not have the right conditions at all for any animals to live there, it's not their natural habitats. In D, we know that we will always be extracting resources from the forests, the best thing is to find a way to extract them in a… [cont.]
