How will I know under which "tier" an auditing firm belongs?
Q. How many "tiers" are there from which auditing firms are categorised. I know there's at least two tiers, but are there more? How would one know which tier an auditing firm belonged? Obviously there are the big accounting/auditing firms like KPMG or Ernst & Young that are probably first tier. But what about the lesser known auditing firms? And who/which organisation ranked the auditing firms in tiers? What authority do they have to rank them? What is the ranking based on? Would be grateful for any information.

A. This will explain the ranking in the US...but I'm not sure if you're looking for ranking worldwide or not. The firms are all ranked based on their annual revenue (which the firms report), and the ranking is updated each year. The most popular list is distributed by CCH in what they call their Public Accounting Report Top 100. The first tier is the "Big 4" - Deloitte, KPMG, Ernst & Young, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. When you look at the revenue numbers, it's a clear cutoff where the Big 4 end - their revenues are much greater than the firms that are lower on the list. The second tier comes after the Big 4, and depending on the source includes the firms that are ranked 5th through 8th or 10th. I hope this helps. If you want to see the… [cont.]

Does Tier-1 Visa holder needs to pay international student fee or home student fee for any university?
Q. I hold Tier-1 Visa up to 2012. If I wants to study in oxford should I need to pay international student fee or home student fee for any university? Will I get scholarship if I am eligible or is it only for student visa holder?

A. Whether or not you are an international fee paying student or a home fee paying student depends one whether you have resided in the UK or EU for 3 years (for reasons other than education) prior to starting your degree. You would have to consult Oxford about scholarship eligibility and visas.

What are the requirements for a Tier I Administrative Credential in California?
Q. I have completed my MA in Educational Administration, have done an internship of 240 hours, and have been teaching for over 5 years. I want to get a Tier I credential so that I can obtain a principalship in CA. What more do I need to get the credential and how do I go about doing that? Also, will a Certificate of Eligibility be necessary?
